The tour starts at either the Matiatia ferry terminal or your Waiheke accommodation. You’ll be picked up by a modern vehicle and taken to the first location of the day, Waiheke Distilling Co., which is situated on the Eastern End of Waiheke Island, offering panoramic views of the islands of Pakatoa, Rotoroa, and Ponui. Here, you can unwind, take in the breathtaking scenery, and savour a taste of Waiheke’s gin while learning about gin botanicals.

Next, we will head into Onetangi to visit The Heke, Waiheke’s craft distillery and brewery. Tucked within four acres of stunning gardens, The Heke offers a peaceful setting to savour a premium single malt whisky and beer tasting. You’ll get to try two single malt whiskies, each aged for at least five years, along with the new-make spirit, followed by a refreshing Heke lager. Lunch will be served at The Heke Kitchen, offering a delightful shared grazing-style menu.
Our journey then takes you to Tantalus Estate for a craft beer tasting in the beautiful Onetangi Valley on Waiheke Island. At Alibi Brewery, you’ll get to try a fantastic variety of seasonal beers, all made using the wonderful flavours, flora, and fauna from the Estate grounds.
After your tour, your Waiheke Wine Tours guide will take you to the Matiatia ferry terminal, where you can catch the 4:15pm Island Direct ferry back to Auckland. Alternatively, you can hop off at Oneroa village and spend some more time on the island, enjoying an early dinner or having some drinks before catching a later ferry.
